Mets Ace Noah Syndergaard Has Perfect Response To Cy Young Snub

Whew.

For all the injuries and pure bad luck the Mets had to deal with in 2016, it was good to finally get some positive injury news.

Mets General Manager Sandy Alderson told reporters Tuesday that Mets ace Noah Syndergaard will not require surgery for his bone spur, because the injury was deemed not significant enough.

Syndergaard pitched through the injury for much of the season, still finishing third in the NL with a 2.60 ERA. The Mets anticipate the injury to heal nicely on its own, and he should be ready to go by Spring Training.

If you know anything about the Mets training staff and their history of injuries, however, I’d not get too confident about them telling me a player is totally healthy. But maybe I’m just cynical.
